Industrial Rope Access Services

GMS operates in High Angle, Confined Space, and Remote Sites which have challenging logistical, safety and rescue considerations. Rope Access systems are often utilized to overcome these challenges. GMS provides a full range of services from project management to specific tasks.

Ropes allow access to otherwise unreachable locations, or to locations that traditionally require scaffolding.

Mountain and Geotechnical Locations

Rope Access techniques can effectively be applied in remote wilderness and natural and mountain environments. GMS is highly experienced in managing the additional hazards and requirements of projects in severe terrain. This applies to projects in environments such as cliff faces, roadcuts, underground mines, mountainsides, glaciers, and deserts.

HydroElectric Facilities

GMS has considerable experience with the specific considerations of providing Rope Access services at major Hydro Electric Facilities. GMS staff are WPP certified and familiar with operational procedures, management are versed in creating detailed site specific work and rescue plans, and ensuring all applicable regulations and HSE policies are complied with.

Services

Consultation and Project Management

Senior GMS management consult on industrial design, regulatory requirements, project logistics, training required, equipment needs, and rescue and first aid options.

GMS provides required risk assessments, written rescue and evacuation procedures, worker instruction, and rope access safe work plans.

Facilitated Access

GMS installs access systems, and provides site safety and direct supervision while guiding Engineers or other technicians into high angle locations. This allows your people to focus on their tasks, GMS facilitates their access.

Training

GMS provides courses and certification in access and rescue by our experienced trainers.

This includes Fall Protection, High Angle Rescue, and SPRAT Level 1-3 training and certification, on site or at our training facilities.

Rescue

GMS provides rescue services for high angle, confined space, and remote locations.

An injured workers fate is determined by the competence and abilities of the rescue team. A professional rescue program and team is the only way to responsibly provide industrial rescue capabilities. We both train client rescue teams and provide GMS Rescuers.

GMS staff arrive on project with internal medic and rescue capabilities for GMS personnel, which can integrate into providing project wide response for our clients workforce.

GMS Workforce

GMS Operatives undergo rigorous in-house training and have extensive work experience.

Each team is assembled to best meet project specific requirements.

Operatives are certified to the following standards: ACMG Mountain Guide, OFA 3 First Aid, SPRAT Level 3, Rope Rescue Team Leader, Confined Space Rescuer, ARAC Helicopter Long Line Rescuer., WHMIS, H2s, TDG.

GMS Rope Access Operatives can combine functions with all other GMS divisions for specialized projects. This includes mountain seismic, avalanche forecasting and control, helicopter long line rescue, and telecoms services.

Equipment -Training and Provision

GMS can provide and train in the use of all rope access equipment and is an authorized dealer of Petzl work and rescue equipment.
